FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR THE GAMA INNOVATION AWARDS 2023
MANCHESTER – 14th August 2023: Manchester-based global insights specialist Gama is today pleased to reveal the finalists that have been shortlisted for the Gama Innovation Awards 2023.
Recognising outstanding innovation in the FMCG space, the products shortlisted for the Gama Innovation Awards represent the very best launches unearthed in the last year by Gama’s global network of in-country researchers and analysts across ten categories: Product, Packaging, Positioning, Branding & Design, Health & Wellness, SME, Best of Britain, Best of Middle East, Travel and Hospitality.
The 80 products shortlisted in this year’s Gama Innovation Awards once again act as a microcosm of the broader trends impacting the FMCG space, with health and sustainability still leading the charge. Plant-based remains a focal-point for innovation, as brands continue to seek ways to make animal-free foods more palatable and interesting, while finding alternatives to table sugar remains a major preoccupation, especially in the confectionery market. Meanwhile cognitive benefits are much to the fore, as consumers reach for novel solutions to mental health and wellbeing, and efforts to dial down the impact of single-use plastic remain the dominant theme in packaging.
Commenting on the shortlist, Gama Innovation Director Silvia Ruiz said: “In compiling the shortlists for the Gama Innovation Awards 2023 we sifted through hundreds of new and innovative products from over 40 countries, selecting only the most ground-breaking few for consideration by our expert judging panel”.

The overall winner in each category, as voted by a panel of international judges, will be announced on Thursday 19th October 2023 during the Gama Innovation Conference & Awards.
