FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR THE GAMA INNOVATION AWARDS 2020

MANCHESTER – 17th August 2020: Manchester-based global insights specialist Gama is today pleased to reveal the finalists shortlisted for the Gama Innovation Awards 2020.

Recognising outstanding innovation in the FMCG space, the shortlists for the Gama Innovation Awards represent the very best launches unearthed in the last year by Gama’s global network of in-country researchers and analysts across eight categoriesProduct, Packaging, Positioning, Branding & Design, Health & Wellness, SME, Best of Britain and Best of Middle East.

As ever, this year’s shortlisted finalists give a revealing insight into the trends that have been shaping the consumer goods landscape over the past few months, with sustainability continuing to be a major driver of change, especially in packaging, and indulgence, vegetarianism, and clean eating remaining prominent. Cookie dough and churros have been notable breakout concepts, while the low-sugar and no-added sugar trend is gathering pace as health-conscious consumers look to cut their sugar intake. Paper-based packaging and bioplastics are on the up as companies seek to cut back on packaging waste, and meat alternatives are getting more sophisticated. Other award finalists demonstrate how brands are increasingly innovating through alignment with ethical initiatives.
